Beginner bike lessons for kids

Absolute beginners. Smaller bike first. Pedals when balance is there. Quiet North Shore lot.

This is the lesson for a child who has not ridden yet, or who has only survived training wheels. We teach kids 5 and up.

We start them on a size-appropriate school bike, often without pedals. If you have a bike at home, bring it too so we can help make the transition easier. When balance holds, the pedals go on — soft ones, so shins stay in the fight. We work with you on how many sessions you actually need. Most children can start, stop, pedal, and steer in a driveway or parking lot by the end of three.

If fear or extra needs are the reason you are here, request a call instead of grabbing the first open slot.

If you have a bike, bring it. We start with our bikes for beginners, often starting smaller than you expect and moving up as balance and confidence show up. Helmets and pads are here if you need them.

What should we wear?

Closed-toe shoes, clothes you can move in, and layers for New England weather. No flip-flops. Bring water.

What does a lesson cost?

Lessons are $150.
